For a low-volume custom shop like Ming Star Precision, the frightening part is not a difficult part. It is the drawing that got revised and nobody noticed.
Miss a revision and the batch is scrap
Custom parts get revised often, and the customer's email frequently says nothing more than “updated version” with a new PDF attached. An engineer then had to place old and new side by side and check dimensions and notes one at a time. “We once missed a hole that had moved two millimetres to the left, and only found out after the whole batch was made,” a member of staff recalls.
The differences surface on their own
CADASU's comparison lists every difference in dimensions, tolerances, notes and hole positions between the two revisions, and marks each one on the drawing. The engineer opens it and sees what changed and by how much, without hunting for it.
A revision confirmed in ten minutes
Checking a revision fell from about an hour to 9 minutes, and rework caused by a missed change all but disappeared. The intake rhythm steadied, and delivery promises could be tightened.
